The much talented KWPN-approved stallion Mindset ES is sold to VDL Stud and stays maintained for the Dutch breeding. After the bronze medal at the Word Championship for young showjumpers in Lanaken last September the phone was constantly ringing for breeder and owner Egbert Schep. “I didn’t want Mindset ES to leave the country and get lost for the Dutch breeding, so when Van de Lageweg called it was the best option.” says Schep.
The in meantime six year old Mindset ES already got noticed at a young age. He impressed at the KWPN stallion examination, where he became Premium stallion, and passed the KWPN performance test with 83,5 points. After that, Mindset SE set the KWPN stallioncompetition 2021/2022 at his name under the saddle of Jarno van Erp, and he stood out for his strong prestations time after time. After a fifth place in the Blom Cup last year followed a beautiful bronze medial at the World Championship in Lanaken.
Mindset ES maintained for Dutch breeding
The prestations and interesting bloodline of Mindset ES didn’t go unnoticed at family Van de Lageweg in the Frisian Bears and VDL Stud is his new owner from now on. “As breeder I’m happy that we kept Mindset ES in The Netherlands. It isn’t just a very talented sporthorse, but also a stallion who really deserves chances with breeding. And that’s what he gets at VDL Stud now.” says Egbert Schep.
“We always followed Mindset ES closely and he stood out positively from the beginning”, enlightened Wiebe-Yde van de Lageweg the purchase of the Aganix du Seigneur-son. “As sporthorse Mindset is of course a great addition, but we think he can also mean much for breeding. With his bloodline and talent we think he can fit in really good in our breeding and our customers breeding.”

Mindset ES is a son of Aganix du Seigneur out of the international jumping mare Hosanne ES (Kannan x Lancer II). Hosanne ES also gave the BWP-approved Kathamunda ES Z and SWB-approved Ontario ES. Grandmother Seelotte gave the KWPN-approved and 1.50m jumping Extase, likewise the Grand-Prix jumper Accent Z on her turn. Mindset goes back to topmare Ilotte – mother of stamp stallions Plot Blue and Oklund and grandmother of Grand Prix of Hickstead winner Babylotte.
Mindset ES moved to the Frisian Bears in the meantime, but is this season also still available for the breeding through VE Sporthorses of family Van Erp.
